Talk series at Bedrule Church explores iconic Borders figures
From April to July 2026 Bedrule Church will be hosting a talk series - ReMembering the Borderlands, produced by Maiden, Mother, Crone CIC and delivered by historian Mary Craig.
Mary will explore the lives of a Philosopher, a Prophet, a Wizard and a Saint: Duns Scotus, Merlin, Michael Scott, and St Cuthbert - all of whom had deep ties with the Scottish Borders and continue to shape our cultural landscape today.
Join us in the wonderful atmosphere of Bedrule Church as the lives and legacies of these extraordinary people are evoked. Each evening is a gathering rather than a lecture and will be followed by community sharing and open conversation.
Bedrule Church Future hopes this will be the first of many such events held at the church. We are looking forward to hosting talks, musical performances, workshops and exhibitions which tie together stories of the heritage, people and landscape of the Borders. Keep an eye out for new events on our website and Facebook page, and if you have a suggestion or contribution for an event that could be held at Bedrule Church, please get in touch.
Take a look at all events in this ReMembering the Borderlands talk series on our Events page, and secure your tickets now via the links below. Each talk is held from 7-8.30pm (with doors at 6.30pm) on the last Wednesday of the month from April to July 2026.
