Help save Bedrule Church

With the outstanding response of over 120 generous donors, the purchase price of the church has been raised!

However, we still need your help…

To donate online, the button above will take you to our Givey site.

If you wish to donate via cheque, BACS or cash, fill out the contact form below.

We need to raise enough to cover insurance and basic running costs for the first year while we’re developing new funding streams.

Owning a building is about much more than buying it!

Please help us get into our stride by making a donation, spreading the word, and continuing to support us in any way you can.

Bedrule Church is deeply rooted in Rulewaters’ history, but will soon be sold.

Were it turned into a house, a business, an unsympathetic religious or social venue, or if it were neglected into ruin, the community would lose all agency in who could access it and how it is used. Our grassroots group - Bedrule Church Future (BCF) [Registered SCIO, charity no. SC054372] - believes strongly that the people of Rulewater and those whose families have roots here, should remain in control.

We are working to purchase the church to ensure its’ continued use for community events and worship, as a cultural and historical archive, and for weddings, baptisms and funerals.

We are “preferred bidders” so the Church of Scotland has agreed not to put Bedrule Church on the open market for sale to the highest bidder.

While this process is ongoing we must also raise funds to cover purchase fees, insurance, moving in costs, and building repair and maintenance – this amounts to £15,000 - £25,000 to cover the first two year’s of such costs.

Please donate on Givey, or if you’d rather donate by BACS or cheque, contact us using the form.

Thank you!

Every donation towards the future of Bedrule Church matters!
